Missing teen girl’s hacked body found

KANPUR: A 16-year-old girl, missing since Saturday evening, was found hacked to death on Sunday morning in outskirts of her village in Mahoba district. Her body, with deep cut wounds, was spotted in a forest near Kabrai village by some locals. The police identified the victim as Sheetla, daughter of Kishanpal of Kabrai village.
According to the police, the girl, who was missing since late Saturday evening, is survived by her father and two brothers. Police said investigation is under way. The girl's father suspects the hand of a village goon behind the gruesome killing, the police said further.
“It is too early to say about any sexual assault on the girl. According to her family members, she had gone for grazing goat and went missing under mysterious circumstances. Her brutally severed body was recovered in the outskirts of the village on Sunday morning,” said ASP Vanshraj Yadav. Following suspicion raised by the girl's father, a village goon has been detained and is being interrogated by police, the ASP added.
