Ahmedabad: Direct flights to six new destinations soon

AHMEDABAD: In a major boost to air connectivity out of Ahmedabad, direct flights to four new destinations, including one intra-state location, is set to be launched soon. Regional airline, Trujet, will launch direct flights to Porbandar and Jaisalmer from Ahmedabad from Wednesday.

“These flights will be launched under the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) Scheme of the Union government and will give a major boost to regional connectivity out of Ahmedabad airport. In the initial stage, the flight will operate from Wednesday to Saturday i.e. four days a week and soon after, the flight will be made operational for six days a week from Monday to Saturday,” said a source from Trujet.


The airline will operate 72-seater aircrafts along these routes. Trujet will be soon adding direct flights to two more destinations – Kandla and Nasik – by the second week of January as well, confirmed sources.


Connecting Ahmedabad to popular destinations, low-cost carrier SpiceJet, has also announced launch of a direct flight to Bagdogra and Hyderabad.


According to a statement by the airline, both these flights will be launched from January 10 and will be operational for six days a week i.e. from Monday to Saturday.
