VP Naidu urges political parties to ensure passage of Women's Reservation Bill

has appealed to all political parties to arrive at a consensus and ensure the passage of Women's Reservation Bill for providing reservation to women in the Parliament and state legislatures.

Addressing the gathering at the Women Entrepreneurship Platform Conclave and after presenting Women Transforming Awards 2018, organised by the NIITI Aayog, and UN in here on Sunday, the said, "The contribution of Indian women to GDP, currently at 17 per cent, was well below the global average of 37 per cent. Only 27 per cent of women in were gainfully employed.
