Introducing a digital collaborative model to train healthcare providers, the city-based Asian Research and Training Institute for Skill Transfer on Sunday launched a programme in association with industry experts bringing together its initiatives Manyata, Parivarthan (#WhoDecides), and Diabetes in Pregnancy in the training module.
While Manyata aims to create a robust quality improvement and assurance system to help private maternity care facilities to improve their services, Parivarthan is about bringing about a change in the mindset of healthcare providers. Project ECHO is a collaborative model of medical education and care management that empowers clinicians to provide better care to people.
On Sunday, a workshop to train frontline health professionals in obstetrics and gynaecology through skill transfer began. Doctors from across the State attended the workshop, and another team of doctors and nurses connected to the class digitally from Mumbai and with the ECHO team in Delhi.
Hema Divakar, national convenor of Manyata, said: “Divakars Speciality Hospital is the first Manyata centre in Karnataka, and it hopes to introduce a digital platform for training teams from private sector providers. The ECHO Zoom platform eliminates the need to travel every month for the training,” she said.
