Homicide squad detectives are investigating the death of a woman in South Melbourne.

Emergency services were called to the Park Steet address about 6pm on Saturday night where she was found with fatal injuries.

Four men are assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are working to understand the circumstances of the woman's death, who is yet to be formally identified.
