Man jumps from transformer, suffers burns
TNN | Dec 17, 2018, 00:36 ISTTirupur: A 25-year-old man from Manipur attempted to commit suicide by jumping from an electrical transformer here on Sunday. He fell on the transformer case and suffered severe burn injuries, police said.
Police identified the victim as Josh, who is residing at Thennampalayam. He worked in a nearby knitwear unit. Police are yet to find the reason for his act. “On Sunday morning, Josh climbed an electrical transformer on Palladam Road opposite to the collectorate and shouted something inaudible. Then he jumped from the electrical transformer. He fell on the transformer case and absorbed electrical shock,” a police officer said.
He was taken to the Tirupur Government Hospital, from where he was shifted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). The Tirupur south police have registered a case. tnn
