CHANDIGARH: Two men stabbed a Ram Darbar resident near the railway tracks at Mauli Jagran village on Friday night and took away his scooter. Government Railway Police (GRP) have registered a case.
GRP station house officer (SHO) Naresh Kumar said: "Satpal, 53, of Ramdarbar was on his way to a relative's house at Mauli Jagran around 8pm when the robbers waylaid him near the railway tracks in the area and started thrashing him. One of the robbers took out a knife and stabbed Satpal in the abdomen first and then several other spots. The scooterist shouted for help and fell on the ground in a pool of blood."
The attackers took his scooter and fled. Some passersby helped Satpal and called a patrol squad that moved him to the Sector-16 GMSH, where the GRP were informed. SHO Naresh Kumar said Satpal had recorded his statement but railway police had no luck yet in tracing his scooter and the robbers. Cops are scanning CCTV images from the nearby spots for some clue.
