It’s selfie time with Ashok Gehlot amid dhol and drum beats

JAIPUR: Common people, Congress workers and MLAs came in large numbers to meet chief minister elect Ashok Gehlot at his Civil Lines located house in Jaipur on Saturday. Independent MLAs also came with their supporters, along with officials of the state bureaucracy to meet Gehlot for a courtesy call.
Some supporters arrived with drums and dhols while other gifted him flowers and garlands. The police had to make additional security arrangements to ensure Gehlot’s safety.
MLAs like Raj Kumar Sharma and B D Kalla were the first one to arrive. Gehlot enthusiastically met every supporter, some of whom insisted on clicking a selfie with him. For last three days, Gehlot’s official residence in the city has been brimming with his supporters. Gehlot stood in his garden and met workers and thanked them for their hard work during elections.
His family members also arrived at Civil Lines. Clad in his usual kurta pyajama, Gehlot patiently welcomed and thanked the party workers. The police informed TOI that special security arrangements are in place as number of supporters continue to swell outside his house.
