Railway helpline numbers for cyclone Phethai in Andhra Pradesh

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indian Railways made elaborate arrangements to ensure that rail services are handled with utmost safety and convenience of rail passengers in view of the cyclone Phethai, which is expected to make landfall between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada coasts on Monday.
Railway Helpline Control to monitor the situation has been put into operation at Vijayawada with helpline numbers 9121271340, 9121271447, 0866-2576924.
All the railway station masters along the Chennai-Howrah main railway line passing along Bay of Bengal coast in Andhra Pradesh have been advised to maintain close liaison with the State authorities and with higher railway officials, for a proper co-ordination.
Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway has instructed the Vijayawada and Guntur divisional railway managers to keep a tab on their respective divisions which are likely to bear the direct and indirect impact of the cyclone. The managers were instructed to formalize all the requirements to handle any emergency and keep the officers and staff ready for undertaking any relief work in case of need. Extensive patrolling of the railway tracks is being continuously undertaken to ensure safe movement of trains and to regulate any services in case of need.
