14 killed in Afghanistan clash

At least 14 people, including seven insurgents loyal to the group and seven government soldiers, have been killed following a fierce clash in Afghanistan's province, officials said on Sunday.

Aziz Ahmad Azizi, governor's spokesman, said the clash happened on Saturday night, reported.

The clash, according to the official, began when a group of armed attacked security posts in Shurabak district of the province, triggering a heavy gun battle which lasted for hours and resulted in the death of the fighters.

Five militants and three more border policemen were wounded in the conflict, said the

militants fighting the government forces in the region are yet to make any comment on the clash.
