Gurgaon: A sex racket being run from a guesthouse in Sector 45 was busted on Thursday and 12 people, including three foreigners, were arrested.
According to the police, the SHO of metro police station, Poonam Hooda, received a tip-off that a group involved in flesh trade was operating from Krishna Residency in Sector 45. A team headed by the SHO was formed and a constable posing as a decoy customer with signed notes was sent to the guesthouse.
The decoy customer met the manager at the guesthouse and after finalising the deal handed him currency notes that had been previously marked. The manager introduced the ‘customer’ to a woman, who was also given marked notes. “The constable signalled us after finalising the deal at the guest house. A raid was conducted and 12 people, including 8 women, were arrested from the spot. Of the 8 women, three are foreigners who could not produce their passports or visa and could not also answer about how they came to India,” SHO Hooda said.
Other than the eight woman, the owner of the guest house, Jaspreet Singh, manager Baljit Singh and two customers Milap and Anup were arrested from the guesthouse.
“Jaspreet, a resident of DLF 3, had taken the property in Sector 45 on rent two months ago. The women are mostly from Bihar and West Bengal, while two are from Uzbekistan and one from Bangladesh,” SHO Hooda said.
An FIR was registered against the accused under sections 3 (keeping a brothel or allowing premises to be used as a brothel), 4 (living on the earnings of prostitution), 5 (procuring, inducing or taking a person for the sake of prostitution), 7 (prostitution in or in the vicinity of public places) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, section 3 of Passport Act and Section 14 of Foreigner’s Act at Sector 40 police station.
