Rs 8L cash stolen from scooter in Palanpur
TNN | Dec 16, 2018, 04:00 ISTPalanpur: A bag containing Rs 8 lakh was stolen from a scooter near Captain Trading Company on Deesa highway late on Friday.
According to police, Dashrath Patel, who is working with Gujarat Energy Transmission Cooperation as deputy engineer and living in Tirupati township, was on his way home with a bag containing Rs 8 lakh, when his scooter’s tire got punctured.
Patel pushed the scooter for half a kilometre to reach the puncture shop. While he was getting the puncture repaired, some miscreant took the cash-filled bag hanging on the handle of scooter, said police on Saturday.
Patel, a native of Barhamanwada in Sidhapur taluka, had withdrawn Rs 8 lakh from Gunj Bazaar branch of State Bank of India in Palanpur for repair and renovation of his house, said police.
