AAP against drive to raze old temples

FAIZABAD: After TOI reported that dilapidated temples in Ayodhya had been issued a notice for demolition, the Aam Aadmi Party on Friday announced it would launch a movement against Ayodhya Municipal Corporation for the notices, saying the move will erase the centuries-old identity of the temple town.

"BJP does not care about temples, it only creates communal tension in the name of the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi temple," said spokesperson Sabhajeet Singh. If the notices are not taken back, AAP will launch a movement under MP Sanjay Singh, who will visit Ayodhya on December 17, said Singh.

The MP will mobilise seers against the action taken by Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, he said."People have deep belief in those temples and it is the government's responsibility to rebuild them," said Singh.
