An urgent recall of Christmas lights has been put out over fears for safety.

'On some lights, the controller is incorrectly wired, leading to the possibility of exposed wires,' the ACCC said.

'If the controller is faulty and the wires are exposed, there is a risk of electrical shock or serious harm to the user.'

The potentially dangerous lights were on the store shelves between October 1 and November 12.

They were sold through crazysales.com.au, eBay, Koga and mydeal.com.au.

Owners are urged to unplug the lights immediately and claim a full refund or replacement.
