Ban on sale of Army uniform by unauthorised vendors in Ambala markets

AMBALA: After a meeting between the senior officials of the Army and the district administration, deputy commissioner (DC) Sharandeep Kaur Brar has banned the sale of Army uniforms in the market areas of Ambala municipal corporation. A joint meeting was organized in the DC office on Thursday to discuss various issues related to the army cantonment and the municipal area.


About the ban on the sale of Army uniforms in the MC areas, the DC instructed the MC officials to get the list of the authorized vendors from the army and identify to close those unauthorised vendors which are selling the Army uniforms illegally with immediate effect. DC Brar said, "It is a sensitive matter related to the national security, therefore, I have instructed the officials to shut the unauthorised vendors immediately."


In the meeting, the discussion was also done on the other development projects related to the construction of the road in Suar Mandi area of Cantonment and the on the menace of stray cattle roaming freely in the Cantonment areas. The DC instructed the MC and Cantonment Board officials to work in cooperation to find out better solutions to the problems.


The administration also discussed with the Army officials the widening of road project through Cantonment area from Ambala Cantonment to Panjokhra Sahib. The Army officials informed that the work on this widening of road project has been started and it will complete till the month of March.
