Brazil Prosecutors Charge Former Trafigura, Petrobras Executives With Corruption
Ex-employees of trading firm alleged to have bribed oil-giant manager to land lucrative contracts
SÃO PAULO—Brazilian prosecutors on Friday charged ex-executives of commodities trader Trafigura Group and of oil company Petróleo Brasileiro SA, or Petrobras, with corruption and money laundering in relation to a series of oil-trading contracts.
The prosecutors said former Trafigura executives Mariano Marcondes Ferraz and Marcio Pinto de Magalhães paid bribes of about $1.5 million to former Petrobras manager Marcus Antonio Pacheco Alcoforado in return for securing contracts to trade oil and derivatives and getting better prices...
