Mnangagwa says will make public Zim post-election violence report
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reportedly reassured Zimbabweans that he would make public the report by a commission of inquiry into the post-election violence that left at least six people dead on August 1.
According to NewsDay, Mnangagwa said this while speaking to heads of foreign missions in the country at a re-alignment workshop.
The report quoted Mnangagwa as saying that the "hearings were done in public, so the report would be shared in public".

'Fresh eviction threats' for Grace Mugabe tormented villagers – report
Zimbabwean villagers who were evicted from Manzou farm in Mazowe in 2015 to pave way for the then first lady Grace Mugabe are reportedly facing "fresh eviction threats" as the country's ministry of lands is said to have "earmarked their land for redistribution to a suspected top government official".
According to New Zimbabwe.com, the villagers said an armed soldier together with two other men who identified themselves as police officials and a Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) officer had visited the farm, telling them to leave before Friday last week.

Mozambique names top ex-rebels to army command
Mozambique has appointed three top commanders of Renamo, Mozambique's largest opposition party and former rebel movement, to key army command posts as part of peace-building efforts between the government and Renamo.
The appointments following a deal struck between Renamo's interim leader, Momade Ossufo, and President Filipe Nyusi in July are a first step towards comprehensive peace, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Tuesday.
Renamo's generals were named to the key positions of Director of Operations, Director of the Military Information, and Director of Communications.

Rwandan government appeals verdict against dissident
Rwanda's chief prosecutor on Wednesday said he would appeal after dissident politician Diane Rwigara was acquitted in a high-profile trial.
On December 6, the High Court found Rwigara not guilty of forgery and inciting insurrection - charges that had seen her imprisoned for more than a year and highlighted a crackdown on opposition in the East African country.
Prosecutor General Jean Bosco Mutangana told reporters on Wednesday that he would file an appeal, arguing that prosecution evidence had been ignored.

Nigeria presidential candidate denies peace deal snub
Nigeria's main opposition party has blamed a "communication lapse" for its candidate not being present to sign a deal with other candidates for peaceful elections.
Atiku Abubakar was a notable absentee at Tuesday's ceremony in Abuja, at which President Muhammadu Buhari and dozens of other candidates vowed to ensure non-violence.
Voters in Africa's most populous nation go to the polls to elect a new president and parliament on February 16 next year. Gubernatorial and state assembly elections follow two weeks later.
