Uday Shankar appointed Walt Disney Asia Pacific president

Shankar, who currently serves as president, 21st Century Fox, Asia, and and CEO of India, will become chairman, and Disney India, and president, Pacific, it said in a statement.

Rebecca Campbell, who currently serves as president, EMEA, will maintain oversight of this region as well as and the (CIS).

Diego Lerner, who currently serves as president, The Walt Disney Company Latin America, will maintain oversight of that region, the statement added.

"The structure will allow for more efficient management of the company's portfolio of assets and the optimisation of resources applied in support of the company's strategic priorities," it said.
