FALL RIVER — Forever Paws, the no-kill animal shelter located in the city, is going to feel the love this holiday season as the recipient of Somerset’s Stateline Subaru “Share the Love” campaign.

Stateline Subaru General Manager Al Vieira, a self-described dog lover and fur daddy to two little pups, said the national “Share the Love” event chooses four charities and each dealership across the country are allowed to choose one of their own charities.

How it works is from mid-November into January, anytime a Subaru vehicle is sold the company donates $250 to the customers chosen charity out of the five identified, said Vieira.

“We’ll sell from 150 to 160 so that’s a lot of money,” said Vieira.

“I am so thrilled,” said Forever Paws Director Gail Furtado. “It means a lot and will really boost our holiday fund and the willingness to help with adoption is an awesome consideration.”

Furtado is referring to an adoption event on Saturday at the dealership that will take place between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Vieira said it was the idea of the dealership management team with a little more sharing the love.

“The owner of the dealership, Ed Kardon, has agreed that whatever animal is adopted on Saturday at the adoption event he’ll cover the cost of the adoption.”
