Teen charged over vicious assault on St Kilda foreshore

An 18-year-old man has been charged over a violent mugging on the St Kilda foreshore that left two men unconscious and another injured.

The trio were approached by a group of men about 11.15pm on December 1, and when they tried to leave, were punched and kicked.

A 24-year-old Burwood East man, who had his mobile phone and wallet stolen, suffered a broken nose and facial bruising, while a 26-year-old Wheelers Hill man had lacerations to his face.

Both men were taken to hospital.
