Security cameras have captured the bizarre but effective shoplifting technique used by a thief at a small grocery store.
The footage showed a man dressed in an Dallas basketball jersey enter the Field Fresh store in Tuakau on the North Island of New Zealand on Monday.
The man then is then seen giving a fresh take on the five-fingered discount as he drop-kicks the various pieces of fruit out the door.
The footage, which was obtained by Gangster Wannabe, began with a woman entering the premises in an electric blue LA sweater.
The duo appeared to know each other as they were seen talking to one another.
The man hangs back near the front entrance and scans the fruit.
He selects a bag of apples and oranges and one by one drops them toward the floor and kicked them out the door.

Both bags of fruit were seen lying on the ground just outside the store's entrance, allowing the thief to scoop them up as he left the store empty handed.
The irate man was then seen waving his arms and yelling as he walks away off camera.
The thief was believed to be still at large.
