Workshop on ‘Advanced Trends on Robotics’ held

PUNE: A two-day workshop on 'Advanced Trends on Robotics' was conducted by Navsahyadri Group of Institutes, Faculty of Engineering, Pune, and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) recently.

Organised by the Mechanical Department, the workshop updated the faculties and participants about the advancements in the area of robotics.

There were several sessions around different topics like Artificial Intelligence application, Machine Learning, Fuzzy Logic, etc. A hands-on training session by Professor Chittaranjan, Dolphin Laboratory, was also organised and was centered around Arduino Programming, Android application development, etc, to help participants learn and clarify the concepts.

President of the Navsahyadri Group, PN Suke, said, "Robotics and automation was an important requirement of the rapidly changing industrial practices all over the world."

He added that it was important to upgrade the faculties first so that advanced practices and knowledge could be nurtured in students.

The workshop was inaugurated by Professor Vivek Sangwan, faculty of IIT Bombay, who remarked on the key changes in the industrial practices with robotics and the drastic increase in efficiency since its inception.
