Diana Penty reveals her makeup, skincare and perfume essentials

The actor and model spills her secrets
Diana Penty is the ultimate girl next door. She started her career on the modelling circuit, before earning her big Bollywood break as Meera in 2012’s Cocktail. Today, the actor has been seen in multiple roles, and has won a number of awards for her work, but truth is, she’s still just like all of us—all the way from her love for her mum to her foundation mess-ups, and her vow to drink more water in the new year. We spoke to the newly-minted ambassador for Estée Lauder India (she’s the first one!) about her signature beauty look, her favourite muse and her makeup kit must-haves.
Diana Penty’s first beauty memory
“My earliest makeup memory was watching my mum do her eyeliner when I was very little. And I remember being very inspired, and that was the first thing I asked her to teach me how to do.”
A makeup tip she learnt this year
“I actually learned this early on that Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair can actually be used in many different ways. When mixed with your foundation, it gives the dewiest, natural finish, which I love. You can also use a few drops as a subtle, natural highlight to your face.”
Diana Penty’s signature look
“I’ve always loved defining my eyes. In fact, the first beauty product I ever used was eyeliner and I haven’t been able to do without it since! I avoid wearing too much makeup in the day, but I do like to define my lashes with mascara and [add] a hint of colour to my lips with lipstick.”
Her makeup kit must-haves
“[Estée Lauder] Advanced Night Repair Serum, [Estée Lauder] Double Wear Foundation, eyeliner, mascara, eyelash curler, blush, lip balm, neutral lipstick.”
Her most embarrassing beauty faux pas
“Wearing the wrong shade of foundation is the biggest beauty faux pas in my opinion and I’ve been guilty on that count a few times!”
Her beauty muses
“Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss. But closer to home, my icon would have to be my mother! To me, she is the epitome of beauty and grace. From her, I have learnt that less is more and that beauty lies in simplicity.”

“I’ve always liked fresh, light fragrances that are not too sweet. Chanel Chance has been my signature scent for over a decade now.”
Her beauty resolution for 2019
“Hydrate, hydrate and hydrate! Hydrated skin makes your [makeup] application absolutely flawless!”
