Goa: Smaller setback for houses in Calangute and Candolim PANAJI: The North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) on Wednesday proposed to grant relaxation in the three-metre setback area for existing structures along the Sinquerim-Baga coastal belt.

Relaxation up to 1.5 metre has been proposed only for existing structures.

Chairman NGPDA Michael Lobo said the proposal will be sent to the department of town and country planning for amendments to be made in the rules and regulations of the planning area between Sinquerim and Baga. “New rules and regulations will have to be made with our recommendations,” he said.

The proposed relaxation will help locals along the coast, he added.
Goa: Smaller setback for houses in Calangute and Candolim The relaxation in setback will not be applicable to new constructions, Lobo said.

The government will follow procedure where objections and suggestions will be called from the public after which all existing structures will be regularised, he said.
