FALL RIVER — One person was killed and one seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday that involved an overturned fuel truck on Route 24 in Fall River.

The crash happened just after 5 a.m. Fuel has leaked onto the highway, and Route 24 is closed in both directions between Airport Road and Route 79

#MAtraffic @ 5:15 am, a TT carrying gas rolled over on route 24 N/B in #FallRiver at exit 8 ( Airport Road). Passenger vehicle involved as well. There is 1 fatality and 1 transported w/ serious injuries Highway closed in both directions. Traffic being diverted onto Airport Rd.

The tanker and at least two other vehicles were involved in the crash, State Police said.

The two victims were taken to a local hospital.
