ATM card cloned, Navy officer loses Rs 50k
TNN | Dec 12, 2018, 07:18 ISTGhaziabad: Father of a 24-year-old lieutenant with Indian Navy has filed a complaint at Kavi Nagar police station alleging that his son’s ATM card had been cloned and Rs 50,000 had been withdrawn from his SBI bank account.
The victim Shubham Sandilaya is a resident of Ghaziabad and had recently been in the city on a 15-day leave. He returned to Chennai on December 1 where he is currently posted. Three days after returning, Rs 50,000 was withdrawn from his account in three instalments from different ATMs in Delhi.
Sandilaya’s father Gajendra Kumar Sharma, a former reader at the Ghaziabad district court, has filed the complaint.
“It is a clear case of ATM card cloning. The original card is with Shubham. He was in Ghaziabad to attend the last rites of his grandmother and then flew to Pune and then to Chennai. He had used his card at some ATM kiosks here.,” said Sharma.
SHO of Kavi Nagar police station Raj Kumar Sharma said, “The case has been transferred to the cyber cell for further probe.”
