The family members of Sushil Chouhan, who was shot dead in an alleged case of road rage in Geeta Colony on Monday night, have raised questions on the role of one of the occupants in the car.
Sushil’s wife Seema alleged that her husband did not die in the road rage incident but was killed in a planned conspiracy by the car occupants.
Argument two days ago
“Sushil had an argument with Kartik [his friend] two days ago over his relationship with a girl in the locality. Kartik had threatened him with dire consequences then. Sushil was shot outside the car but Kartik and [Sushil’s nephew] Ashwani did not hear any gunshots. The fact is unconvincing,” said Devendra, the victim’s relative.
Kartik and Ashwani told the police during questioning that Sushil had informed them that he was shot when he got into the car.
Sushil’s cousin Ruchi said, “How is it possible that the car occupants did not even see the scooterist? Why did they even allow my cousin to drive after he was shot? A police post was nearby but a PCR call was made from the hospital after my cousin was declared dead.”
Seema said she spoke to her husband around 10 p.m. He told her that he was about to leave from the marriage function he had gone to attend along with Ashwani and Kartik.
“I slept after that and called him again at 11 p.m. After 11.21 p.m., I could not reach him as his phone was switched off. I got to know about the incident when I called Ashwani’s mother,” said Seema.
However, the police dismissed the personal enmity angle.
“It is a case of road rage. After scanning footage from several CCTV cameras on the possible routes taken by the assailant, we have found a suspect moving on a scooty in the wrong direction. Police teams are working to solve the case,” said DCP (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav.
