While we may still be debating whether androids dream of electric sheep, artificial intelligence and robots amuse us every day with how human-like they are.

NASA's InSight is perhaps an example of just that. Last week, images from the lander showed its robotic arm ready to do some lifting and now, with a reach of nearly 6 feet (2 metres), the robot managed to flex its arm to snap a selfie.

'InSight' which is short for Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport, is a Mars lander designed to give Mars its first thorough checkup, and study the planet's interior structure.

InSight, which landed on 26th November, took a picture of the surface first. Just like most tourists do when they go to a new place.

The selfie also seems like if it was something you saw while scrolling on Instagram, it wouldn't be out of place. Take a look.

People are also pretty amused.

InSight also responds much like an Instagram influencer would.

And while we may still be debating whether human-made technology is becoming more sentient or not, we certainly know that the InSight probably should have its own Instagram account soon.
