A one-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 17-year-old youth in the Baliguda police station area of Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
The accused has escaped after leaving the child at the doorsteps of her home at Barkhama on Tuesday, said inspector in-charge of Baliguda station, Ramakant Patra. Both the victim and the accused were residents of Barkhama. The accused was a distant relative of the victim.
The injured child was admitted to Baliguda Hospital and later shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in Phulbani.
