PANAJI: With BJP taking a beating in the five states, its allies in Goa have warned the party leadership of taking corrective measures on priority for smooth running of the administration if it wants to retain both LS seats.

"One lesson the BJP needs to learn is how to treat its allies better and take them along," said MGP leader and PWD minister Ramkrishna Dhavalikar.

"If the aspirations of the people are not fulfilled, then what happened in those states can also happen in Goa," said GFP president and TCP minister Vijai Sardesai. He said resumption of mining was one issue on which BJP has failed to take concrete steps.

"If the interests and aspirations of Goans are not considered, you cannot take us for granted," he warned.

Revenue minister and independent MLA Rohan Khaunte said: "Bureaucracy cannot be allowed to decide everything."
