The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has registered an unprecedented victory, winning 10 out of the 12 Assembly seats in the erstwhile Warangal district in the Assembly elections.
Significant loss to the party was the defeat of Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary who secured third place. The Bhupalpally seat was won by Congress candidate Gandra Venkataramana Reddy with a majority of over 15,635 votes defeating independent candidate Gandra Satyanarayana Rao.
Minister A Chandulal also lost Mulug seat to Congress candidate D Sitakka, who won the seat with a majority of over 20,000 votes.
The TRS won Wardhannapet with a huge margin of nearly one lakh where its candidate Aruri Ramesh defeated TJS candidate P Devaiah. The party also won Parkal seat, where its candidate Ch Dharma Reddy defeated Congress senior and popular leader Konda Surekha by a majority of over 40,000 votes.
At Narasampet the TRS candidate P Sudarshan Reddy defeated the Congress candidate D Madhava Reddy with a majority of 17,000 votes. At Jangaon, the TRS candidate M Yadagiri Reddy defeated veteran Congress leader Ponnala Lakshamaiah while at Mahabubabad the Congress leader and former Union Minister P Balram Naik was defeated by TRS candidate B Shankar Naik. The TRS also retained its Dornakal seat where its candidate D S Redya Naik defeated the Congress candidate A Ramachandru Naik.
Senior politician and TRS leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao defeated Congress leader Janga Raghava Reddy in Palakurthy Assembly constituency. The TRS also retained the Station Ghanpur constituency where its leader T Rajaiah defeated Congress leader S Indira.
The Warangal East seat was won my Mayor N Narender who registered a majority of over 28,295 votes over his Congress rival V Ravi Chandra while the Warangal West was retained by D Vinay Bhaskar who defeated TDP senior leader Revuri Prakash Reddy.
