The district police are all set to unveil online police verification services, a citizen-centric service to enable people to get four types of Police Verification Reports (PVR) without visiting police station or police officers.
Giving details of the services developed on the Crime and Criminal Tracking Networks and Systems (CCTNS) platform, Superintendent of Police Omprakash Meena said the district police would launch the online services on December 15, when the system would be rolled out throughout the State.
Individuals and companies/institutions could get self verification, job verification, tenant verification and domestic help verification reports by visiting the Tamil Nadu police website www.eservices.tnpolice.gov.in with necessary documents, he said.
The applicants should send consent letters of the persons to be verified along with other documents to get the PVR, he said.
Individuals could avail the service and get the PVR by paying ₹ 500 per application and companies/institutions ₹1,000 per application, he said. The applicants could make the payments through credit cards, debit cards and net banking, he said. They could download the PVR in 15 days after submitting the applications, he said adding, they could also get a copy of the PVR by email.
Explaining the process, the SP said the moderator on receipt of an application, would scrutinise it and forward the same to the concerned police station, after which, the intelligence service staff would conduct field verification. Later, the criminal antecedents of the person to be verified would be checked in police records in the police stations and through ‘accused name search’ query on CCTNS website, he said.
“An All India search for verifying criminal antecedents would also be done through digital police option on CCTNS officers’ portal,” he added. Applicants could check the genuineness of the PVR by scanning the QR code given in the report or through the ‘verify’ option in the website, the SP said. The applicants could also track the status of their applications and lodge their grievances if any through the feedback option, he said.
