Hennessey’s Cadillac CTS-V Dips Into Hypercar Realm With 1,000 HP

While Cadillac is sending off the CTS-V with the Pedestal Edition, Hennessey is, once again, working on GM’s BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E63 fighter.

In the short video they released, they show the 1,000 hp (1,014 PS / 746 kW) and 966 lb-ft (1,310 Nm) tuned hyper sedan in action at the Lonestar Motorsports Park.

The stock CTS-V’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine produces 640 hp (649 PS / 477 kW) and 630 lb-ft (855 Nm) of torque, sprints to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds and maxes out at 200 mph (322 km/h).

Thanks to the upgrades performed in the engine compartment by Hennessey, this CTS-V is a heck of a lot quicker. It needs 2.9 seconds to hit 60 mph (96 km/h), and it can run the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds, at 135 mph (217 km/h).

The HPE1000 engine upgrade is available at the Texan tuner and suits all 2016-2018 Cadillac CTS-Vs. Besides the immense output produced by the engine, the package ensures dyno tuning and road testing of each model. The cars also come with special exterior badges and floor mats with Hennessey branding, as well as serial-numbered dash and engine plaques.

Hennessey says 93 octane fuel is needed for unleashing the full 1,000 hp, as using 91 octane gasoline will result in lower output numbers and, thus, inferior performance.
