Shares of Zydus Wellness rose 2 per cent in early trade on Wednesday after the Competition Commission approved a deal to acquire Heinz India consumer wellness business that includes popular brands like Complan and Glucon D.

Zydus Wellness jointly with Cadila Healthcare had signed definitive pacts to acquire Heinz India for Rs 4,595 crore that includes a net working capital of Rs 40 crore, cash of Rs 15 crore and assumes no debt.

The scrip was 2.21 per cent up at Rs 1332.75 at around 09.23 am while the benchmark BSE Sensex rose 0.61 per cent to 35,364.67. It opened at Rs 1310.10 on the BSE against its previous closing of Rs 1303.95.
