There was a distinct lack of romance in the air at the One&Only Palmilla resort on Saturday as marines and armed security guards patrolled the shore.
A source told Daily Mail Australia that the hotel even used frequency jammers to stop overhead drones from capturing footage of the nuptials from above.
But it wasn't just the over-the-top security making headlines, as Jasmine herself raised eyebrows when she walked down the aisle in a non-traditional wedding dress.

Karl's stunning bride eschewed tradition and instead wore a racy J. Andreatta couture dress, which featured a 'mullet' design and dramatic veil.
The thigh-skimming frock also included a plunging neckline, with Jasmine previously telling Vogue Australia that the dress took just two minutes to sketch.
'[Jess Andreatta] is on the same street as the Mara & Mine boutique in Paddington, so I went to see her and took her my inspiration and she drew it,' she explained.

As Karl and Jasmine exchanged 'I dos', the Today host's ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn sparked controversy in Australia by sharing a cryptic Instagram post around the same time the first wedding photos of the couple surfaced online.
She posted an image of The Handmaid's Tale book cover, describing the dystopian novel as 'an emotional roller-coaster', and claimed she identified with its themes.
'A good book for my journey. An excellent TV series that is an emotional roller coaster for women. Well worth watching!' she wrote in the caption.

What are you trying to say? She posted this image of The Handmaid's Tale book cover, describing the dystopian novel as 'an emotional roller-coaster', and claimed she identified with its themes
The Handmaid's Tale follows the life of June Osborne, who is forced to live as a concubine under a fundamentalist theocratic dictatorship in a dystopian future.
New Idea reported on Monday that Cassandra also went on a rant aimed at her ex-husband over the weekend, however she denied these claims to Daily Mail Australia.
The magazine alleged that as the former journalist, 47, jetted into Sydney Airport on Sunday following a trip to Melbourne, she criticised Karl's wedding.

'What do you do for a living?' On the day of Karl and Jasmine's wedding, Richard Wilkins (left) allegedly had an outburst during the reception when a British woman didn't recognise him
'He's thrown three weddings for goodness sake. Who needs three weddings in a year? Give us a break,' Cassandra was quoted as telling a reporter.
'Three weddings and a funeral. We had a funeral and it was my dad's.'
She reportedly then said: 'I've done a lot of reading about narcissism... Everything he says is about this fake person who lives in this fake castle, it's not real.'
Cassandra later denied New Idea's report, however, telling Daily Mail Australia in a statement: 'There was no interview or rant'.

Let's party! However, Karl and Jasmine were blissfully unaware of any drama and managed to enjoy their big day while partying at the reception with roughly 200 guests

Of course, Cassandra isn't the only person to be accused of losing their temper over the weekend.
On the day of Karl and Jasmine's wedding, Today entertainment reporter Richard 'Dickie' Wilkins allegedly had an outburst during the reception.
An insider told Daily Mail Australia that the 64-year-old, who has worked at Channel Nine for more than three decades, reportedly snapped at a woman from the UK who asked, 'What do you do for a living?'

The woman's innocent question reportedly sent Richard into a state of shock.
'Richard, apparently aghast, blustered: "Don't you watch television?" and walked off in a huff,' the source claimed.

Star-studded: Footage later surfaced of guests, including Peter Stefanovic (left), Sylvia Jeffreys (right) and former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, dancing the night away
