BJP MLC Somu Veerraju said on Monday Prime Minister Narendra Modi was likely to visit the State on January 6 and it would be followed by a State-wide bus yatra by the party leaders.
Addressing a press conference in Guntur about discussions at a party office-bearers’ meeting attended by State affairs co-in-charge Sunil Deodhar and Kanna Lakshminarayana among others, Mr. Veerraju said politics in A.P. would be henceforth different from what Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu might have imagined and asserted that he (Mr. Naidu) could never become the CM without the cooperation of the BJP.
Mr. Veerraju said a substantial chunk of the funds being spent on various schemes was from the coffers of the Central government, but Mr. Naidu had unleashed ‘a misinformation campaign’ that the BJP had done nothing for the State.
Mr. Naidu remained a mute spectator as the corrupt elements looted the State, the MLC alleged.
Party leaders Daggubati Purandeswari, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, Dinesh Reddy, T. Nagabhushanam and Sanchaita Gajapati Raju were among those present.
