The agency wants it to match it with writings on documents seized in connection with AgustaWestland case

A Delhi court on Tuesday allowed the CBI’s plea to take specimen signature of Christian Michel, alleged middleman in the ₹3,600-crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal case.

Special CBI Judge Arvind Kumar allowed the plea when counsel for the accused said his client had no objection to it as he wanted to prove his innocence.

The investigating agency submitted before the court that it wanted the specimen signature of the accused to match it with the writings on the documents seized by it in connection with the case.

The court also allowed Mr. Michel’s plea to talk to his wife and children over mobile in a speaker mode and in English only.

However, it disallowed his plea to talk to his manager and stepbrother when the CBI opposed it saying that the manager is a suspect in the case.
