Oil spill near State Pier in Fall River under investigation

Cleanup is underway.

FALL RIVER — A cleanup is taking place near the State Pier following an oil spill.

The Fall River Harbormaster reported the spill shortly after noon Tuesday. The source of the spill is being investigated.

The Coast Guard has been notified and an environmental cleanup is taking place by a private company.
