NEW DELHI:
FMCG shares were trading higher with the Nifty FMCG index up 0.56 per cent at 29,376.2 on Tuesday.
Shares of Marico (up 3.90 per cent), Colgate-Palmolive (India) (up 3.84 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (up 2.81 per cent) and
Emami (up 2.73 per cent), were the top performers in the index.
Godrej Industries (up 2.67 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (up 1.90 per cent), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (up 1.79 per cent) and United Breweries (up 1.73 per cent) too were trading in the green.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 23.35 points at 10,511.8 while BSE Sensex was up 31.33 points at 34991.05 around 11:43 am.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, Sun Pharma, BHEL, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, Indian Oil Corp, BEL, Vedanta, RIL, Tata Steel, Axis Bank and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
