HYDERABAD: TDP president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will get a ‘return gift’ from K Chandrasekhar Rao.
“When one attends a birthday party, don’t they give return gifts? I will most certainly give Naidu a return gift. If he came to do some political activity in Telangana, shouldn’t I be returning the same gesture. Otherwise, he will think that Telangana people have no culture,” Chandrasekhar Rao said conveying in a subtle manner what he intended to do.
“I will go to Vijayawada and expose Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.
KCR also indicated that he most certainly would play a significant role in AP politics. “Naidu is in a pathetic situation today, so I will not talk much about it. He’s a poor man,” KCR said alluding to the huge loss the Prajakutami suffered in the elections. The TDP, it may be mentioned, won only two seats.

Throughout his election campaign, KCR had questioned why Naidu had to ‘interfere’ in Telangana politics when he had his own state. “The Congress party got him hoping to changing their fortunes but you know what happened,” he said. Chandrasekhar Rao said he would expose Naidu and how he literally tried to please Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a Niti Ayog meeting.
“Naidu said in the meeting that PM Modi was the first chief minister to become a Prime Minister. Chief ministers of other states laughed when he said this and asked me if Naidu had no knowledge of many other CMs going on to become PM,” Chandrasekhar Rao said.
“I will definitely involve in AP politics,” KCR announced at the press conference he held on Tuesday. He said the party had got over one lakh Whatsapp messages and SMSs from the people of AP congratulating the TRS on its victory.
KCR also came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘telling lies’ during his election campaign in Telangana. He said the prime minister commented that there was no power supply in Telangana which was a complete lie. “He came to Nizamabad and talked about drains and roads. Is that what a Prime Minister should be speaking,” he questioned.
He also found fault with the Prime Minister for denying Telangana the option of increasing reservations. “Is the country his jagir?” he asked. The TRS president also found fault with a SC judgement which said reservations cannot be more than 50 per cent. “Nowhere does the constitution say that reservations should not be more than 50 per cent. The Centre should have got the SC ruling reversed,” he said.
KCR also said the Centre should do away with the concurrent list to give the states the liberty to do what they need locally. “Why is there terrorism and Naxalism in the country? It is because the Congress and BJP failed. The Centre should concentrate on what matters to the country,” he said.
