Three snatchers held for attack on woman in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Two days after a woman’s fingers were slashed with a paper cutter during a snatching bid on Press Enclave Road near Saket, cops said they have arrested three men who had fled with her bag.
DCP (south) Vijay Kumar said that the accused have been identified as Mukesh (22), Shivam (20) and Manoj (22).
They came on the cops’ radar after a 43-year-old woman, Shalini Garg, had her fingers slashed when she held onto her bag to prevent it from being snatched away by two men on a motorcycle. The woman was on her way to see an ailing relative in the hospital in Saket and suffered severe cuts in three of her fingers.
The men were tracked down after it was found that they had snatched a bag in Ambedkar Nagar after injuring the woman. The details were collated and it was confirmed that the same people were involved in both the incidents.
Investigating teams found the motorcycle that was used in both the incidents in Ambedkar Nagar. It was found that they had left the motorcycle after the incident and were hiding.
The owner of the motorcycle, Manoj, was traced and nabbed. He was questioned where he disclosed that he had given his two-wheeler to Mukesh and Shivam, who had executed the two snatching incidents.
Cops raided the hideout of the duo and nabbed them. They are being questioned further about their previous involvement.
