Shubhra Pant | TNN | Dec 11, 2018, 07:18 ISTGurgaon: The department of urban local bodies has started an online application system for building plan approvals and occupation certificates.
According to a recent notification by the department, the system doesn’t require manual scrutiny of applications as it will by itself send discrepancies observed at the time of field visits and document verification.
“The online approval will take a significant load off the corporation staff,” said a senior MCG official.
To send an application online, one can visit the municipal corporation website and click on the ‘building plan approval’ link.
One can submit the forms along with the required documents to initiate the process.
Officials said that since it is a self-sustained process, there will be no need to keep hard copies of documents.
Besides bringing efficiency in the building plan approval process, the online system is also expected to bring in transparency, said sources within MCG, .
There have been allegations of corruption against corporation employees that some were extorting money from people in the name of building plan approvals.
Ashwini Sharma, councillor from ward 19, had alleged that the enforcement wing officials were harassing people for money.
