HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao emerged as the winner from Gajwel constituency.

The TRS leader won with 51,515 majority and defeated Congress candidate Vanteru Pratap Reddy and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Akula Vijaya.

It maybe recalled that KCR had won from Gajwel in 2014 and sought re-election. During his campaigning at Gajwel, KCR had become emotional and said that he would go to the extent of sacrificing his life if interests of Telangana are compromised.

Celebrations erupted after the TRS chief's victory in the Telangana assembly elections.
