I have just finished watching the entire interview conducted by Given Mkhari.
Never in my entire life have I ever felt so disgusted about what can only be described as a vicious, one sided assault on one of SA's top businessmen. Shame on those who so blindly participated and tried to tear him apart.
The presenter was clearly so out of his depth, it is truly shocking that the show was even broadcast. He kept on interrupting, never listened to any answers and tried to orchestrate his "own one man show". Boy did he fail miserably!!!
Everything was just about what everyone demands to be given, no hard work and the time taken to achieve anything. Hell if life was only so easy for anyone. It certainly was not for Johann Rupert and his family. I listened carefully to his answers with intent and he spoke with certainty, responsibility, and the blatant truth... like it or not!
To sit there and be abused in the most despicable way and not retaliate in any way speaks volumes for the type of person he is.
He and his fellow colleagues should be a shining example of just how one can be successful if you put in the hard work and time into something to achieve the impossible. But no he was chastised, belittled, treated worse than one would treat an animal. And then everyone wonders why SA is currently in the position we find this wonderful country in?
They say ignorance is bliss, but then how does one explain just plain stupidity? If we want our country to succeed, then we need more people who have achieved in life that we can look up to and respect, that can set those examples that we can look up and try to emulate. Only when that starts happening, can we say we on the correct path.
Breaking down, destroying, demanding will definitely not get us anywhere. And most importantly, learn from history and the mistakes of the past and never repeat them.
