LeRoy joined Maritim Hotels in 1998 as a Senior Account Manager for the Business Travel and Corporate Travel market. With over ten years prior experience working at American Express Business Travel, Thomas Cook Business Travel and Ayscough Travel, LeRoy’s innovative approach to the multi-faceted markets available to the hotel sector ensured his swift appointment to Director of the entire Maritim portfolio.

Among LeRoy’s many accomplishments with the company to date include overseeing a record period of year on year sales growth for four years, consistently growing profits between 6.3 per cent and 9.8 per cent. LeRoy has been instrumental in establishing Maritim Hotels as key brand for the inbound market of operators across the UK, increasing incoming room, food and beverage revenues. LeRoy has also assisted Maritim International Sales Director Mark Spivey in developing the hotel group’s presence in the lucrative Indian markets.

Day to day, LeRoy oversees all accounts for the UK and Ireland sales teams. In addition to acting as group sales leader for a team of eight, which includes four Account Managers and three Sales Co-ordinators, LeRoy implements and negotiates preferred supplier agreements for all markets, including leisure, corporate and the MICE market.

Reflecting on his career so far, LeRoy says: “I have been extremely fortunate to help lead Maritim through a time of unprecedented growth, but there is still more work to be done. With new properties set to open across China, Holland and Poland, I could not be more excited to take Maritim’s philosophy of ‘meetings and accommodation under one roof’ to lucrative outbound markets. There is a huge amount of opportunity to continue to develop the Maritim brand as the world becomes smaller every day. Here’s to the next 20!”

Adds Mark Spivey, “The travel and hospitality has industry has changed significantly in the last 20 years, with a greater emphasis towards RFPs and electronic communication. While these updated methods of working increase efficiency, to truly be a successful hotelier, developing and nurturing relationships will always be paramount. To have a long standing, high performer, such as LeRoy, that can call upon those new and existing relationships to consistently deliver high performance results are the foundations of company.

“‘Having celebrated my 25 anniversary last year, it gives me great pride to congratulate LeRoy on his 20 year work anniversary. I am looking forward to what the future has in store for him and Maritim.’

When away from work, LeRoy is a season ticket holder of Watford FC and spends his weekends on his canal boat.
