Greater Noida: The family of the 29-year-old cab driver, Manoj Kumar, who was found dead on November 23 in Kasna, gheraoed Sector 39 police station on Monday, protesting against the slow investigation in the case.
The family demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and recovery of mobile phone and other documents belonging to Manoj that had been missing along with the Wagon R that he drove for a living. Cops urged them to have patience and sought three more days for investigation. The family first went to the SSP office in Surajpur, Greater Noida, and then to Sector 39 police station on Monday.

“We are continuously following up with the police for any development in the case but the cops have hardly managed to find any leads on the perpetrators or the car or even the documents belonging to Manoj that were reported missing,” said Aman Pundhir, the brother-in-law of the deceased.

“Cops are passing the accountability to each other. The body was found in Kasna but the case was registered in Sector 39, so we were asked to move there with our demands, however, the investigating officer has asked for a three day extension in the case, we demand stringent action against the accused,” Aman added.

“The last location of Manoj was Kasna, we are conducting raids to nab the accused. Prima facie, it appears to be a murder during a robbery attempt so it is hard to tell whether it was an act of professionals or amateur’s, however the best teams are working on this case and the due action in the case will soon be taken by the police,” said Amit Kishore Shrivastava, circle officer 1 in Noida.

Manoj Kumar was a resident of Chipiyana Buzurg village in Ghaziabad.

He lived with his wife, two children and his brother-in-law. He went missing on November 22 at around 8 PM in the evening after which his family had filed a missing complaint in Sector 39 Police Station and was found dead with injury marks on the body next day in the afternoon at a secluded spot Kasna area.
