AMBALA: The health department has distributed 'Anmol' tablets with internet connection to 189 Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANMs) in Ambala to digitally record patients' data.

District chief medical officer (CMO) Dr SL Verma said information about various government medical schemes is pre-loaded in the tablets in audio-visual form, so the ANMs do not face any inconveniences while sharing the details to the public.

As per the information, in the first phase, 12 districts in the state were to be covered for distribution of these tablets and in Ambala there are nearly 195 ANMs and out which 189 have been given the tablets.

As per the contract with the government, for three years, Dhanush Infotech Private Limited will take care of the distribution, maintenance, and internet of these tablets.

In case, the ANMs face any network connectivity issue in the rural areas, the applications installed in the tablet allow them to save data offline as well and later the data will automatically get uploaded to the server once the tablet gets the connectivity.

CMO Verma said, “From the first day on November 2, we had started the distribution process of the tablets, and now almost all the ANMs have been equipped with them to help in their work.”
