As the stage is set for the counting of votes for the Legislative Assembly elections, the State election authority has announced fresh schedule for the summary revision of electoral rolls.

Accordingly, the integrated draft electoral roll would be published on December 26 and electors/political parties can file their claims and objections till January 25. The claims and objections would be disposed of by February 11 which would be followed by updation of database and printing of the first supplement before February 18. The final electoral rolls for next year under the special summary revision would be published on February 22.

The election authority had announced the schedule as the summary revision process had been rescheduled after the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly on September 6. The election authority conducted a drive between September 10 and 25 before publishing the final list of voters on October 12 after disposing of the claims and objections.

Simultaneously, the election authority received applications for fresh enrolment through Form 6 till November third week and these votes had been incorporated in the voter list which formed the basis of the December 7 elections.

Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar requested the eligible voters attaining the age of 18 on January 1, 2019 as well as those missed out the opportunity to exercise their franchise in the current election to enrol their names or correct the missing details if any.

The booth level officers would conduct an intensive door to door survey with pre-filled register containing the names of the existing electors so that the details are verified by the concerned families. In addition to the manual filing of applications, eligible voters could also file their applications online through the national voters service portal at http://www.nvsp.in.
