The Founders Inn and Spa announced that the property has officially joined the Tapestry Collection by Hilton portfolio. The hotel will continue to maintain its own individual spirit, blending Old World beauty with Colonial era charm in a way that captivates guests for a truly memorable stay and an ideal Virginia Beach escape. As a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property, The Founders Inn and Spa will present guests with an original experience accompanied by the reliability of the Hilton name and its award-winning Hilton Honors program.

The planned renovations to The Founders Inn and Spa will be completed within the next two years. Updates in progress include:
- Full renovations to update every guest room to elevate each and every experience
- A permanent tent that will serve as the perfect space for an outdoor event or wedding
- Redecoration of The Swan Terrace Grill including new furniture, carpet and drapes
