The civic-run Seth Atmasingh Jessasingh Bankebihari Ear-Nose-Throat Hospital in Fort opened its modular operation theatre (OT) on Monday. The new OT is a part of the hospital’s overall renovation and upgrade at a cost of ₹25 crore, which will be completed by December 2019. Hospital’s chief medical officer Dr Deepika Rana said that the new OT has top class infection control measures.

“The walls and the flooring have been made with antibacterial control material,” said Dr. Rana adding that the pathology, administration and X-Ray departments were repaired a few months ago. The 100-bed ENT hospital has six honorary ENT specialists and 10 resident doctors. The two medical officers and the Chief Medical Officer are also ENT specialists. The hospital has a daily out-patient department (OPD) footfall of 400 to 500 patients.
